I've found someone I hate more than the RIAA. Text Book publishers
Remember the good ol’ days? you know, the ones where class would start and you’d buy a bunch of used books to save a butt load of money, right? Yea... Those days have gone the way of the dodo. We’re all used to the tricks publishers use to entice us to buy new books, basically the new edition they publish almost yearly. They lead you to believe you’ll be ass out if you don’t have the latest edition, when in reality it may have a few new pictures, or a different font, or a new cover but essentially its the same crapola. I guess they’ve caught to the fact that we’ve caught on to there shenanigans so the new method is “online supplements.” Each of my classes this semester requires me to use either a CD or online version of the book, along with my text book. These supplements require a password, that only works once, if you buy a used book you’re screwed. They let you buy just a pass word but its always like 50 bucks so in the end you end up saving nothing by buying the used book. Oh and then they try to entice us with E-textbooks, they cost half or more of the price of an actual book, costs them a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the cost of a hard cover to produce, are usually more inconvenient to use and then we can’t resell it. Good idea. Thank you Mr. Book Publisher for making it even more expensive to go to school in these times when we’re all freakin’ broke. Thanks a lot. /Rant
